Chicago activists ride bikes through West Side to promote non-violence to young people

CHICAGO – A group of Chicago activists took their bikes out for a ride Saturday on the city’s West Side to spread the message of non-violence and hope to young people.

Saturday was a picture perfect day for a bike ride, or in this case, a bike ride with a mission.

The activists proudly wore their pink t-shirts with “Riding For Peace In Our Streets” displayed across the front. Saturday’s ride was organized by BUILD – short for Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development – a violence and youth development organization based in Chicago for over 50 years.
